The school was established in the year 1958. The school caters to the children at Ambattur and the surrounding area. The School today has a total strength of 2044 students studying from Stds. 6th to 12th in both Tamil & English Mediums. Both Tamil and English medium is offered. Before 1957 Ambattur Educational Society was running Sri Maha Ganesha Vidhya Sala – Higher Elementary School. The formal transfer was on 1957. The present school was started in 1958 - named after Sir Arcot Ramaswami Mudaliar in a Temporary thatched shed. In June 1959 – the school was shifted to a new site. It is a pioneer institution in this area and bench-mark for many Government & Government Aided Schools in Thiruvallur District. Over the years, The School has played a vital role in changing the lives of students , especially those from the socio economically challenged backgrounds.
